Main building of the Danube Region Museum was built in 1913 in late romantic style as a Culture Palace under the supervision of Mihály Nagy. In the ceremonial hall one of the walls is decorated with the painting of the Bánhidai csata by Árpád Feszty. Among the permanent exhibitions are the Historical evolution of Komárno and the region from prehistoric times till 1849, and the ethnographic characteristics of the region. In the ceremonial hall we can see the paintings of Charles Harmos, who was a painter from Komárno.
Opening hours:
From 15 April – to 30 September : Tuesday – Saturday , 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
From 1 October – to 14 April: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
