Franz Lehár was an Austro-Hungarian operetta composer, born in Komárno. In the town, a park and a street named after him can be found. In the Franz Lehár park there’s a statue of the musician, made by Emil venkov in 1980. In the place where the park is located, originally stood Lehár’s birthplace. His most known and most successful piece is The Merry Widow (Die lustige Witwe).
