The bascule bridge was built in 1968 as the first of it’s kind in Slovakia and the rest of the Central-European region. It became an important part of cross-border transport. The bascule mechanism also allows easier boat traffic between open waters and the shipyard. The surface of the bridge was renovated in 2018.
